Very Disappointing Customer Service I visited Petco today with my family and went to the fish section because we needed assistance purchasing feeder fish. Once again, all of the fish tank lights were off, just as they were during our previous visit, which already made the area feel unattended. We needed help, but no employee approached us. We eventually saw Shelby sitting on the floor restocking items on a shelf, so we politely asked if she could assist us with the feeder fish. Rather than getting up or acknowledging us professionally, she remained seated and asked how large our pond was because the feeder fish can grow quite large. We explained that the fish were for our turtle, and she smirked while continuing to sit on the floor. Her tone and attitude came across as extremely rude and dismissive, and she provided no helpful response or assistance. I was honestly in disbelief at how we were treated. I have worked in customer service myself, and I understand that employees may have tasks to complete, but there is still an expectation to acknowledge customers, communicate respectfully, and make an effort to assist them. Really disappointed with my experience at this Petco I've been here before and the service is usually frustrating because we often have to wait a long time for an employee to help us This time I waited a long time because I was excited to finally pick out a hamster When the employee finally came over the first thing she said was “Uhm, how old are you guys?” Her tone came across as very judgmental and rude I explained that I had an adult with me who was buying the hamster as a gift that I had a temporary cage, and that a much better permanent cage was already on the way I've owned a hamster before and have cared for multiple types of animals so I know the responsibility involved I felt like I was being treated as if I were just some irresponsible teenager simply because I'm 15? Judgmental much? I understand wanting to make sure animals are going to good homes but next time don't judge someone before knowing their experience or situation🫩 Being young doesn't automatically mean someone is incapable of caring for an animal Come here if you wanna be judged 😅

NEVER bring your dog here for grooming. Alarming that I heard dogs crying like crazy these past couple times. I’ve been bringing my Samoyed to this Petco grooming salon for the last 3 years probably 10–12 visits total but today was by far the worst customer experience I’ve had. My dog has always been a little anxious during drop-off. He shakes for a few minutes in the beginning, then settles down and completes grooming just fine. This has NEVER been an issue before, and the salon staff themselves acknowledged they recognized him and had groomed him multiple times in the past. I’ve also appreciated the staff’s work by always giving them 25-30% in tips. However, we were turned away after arriving for the appointment because they suddenly decided he was “too anxious.” (Apparently HE WAS ONE GROOMING SESSION AWAY FROM A FREE ONE). What made the situation frustrating was not just the rejection, but the inconsistency and attitude. There were other visibly anxious dogs in the salon barking and shaking that were still accepted, yet my dog was denied service. If this salon has changed its policy or no longer wants to groom anxious dogs, that should be communicated clearly BEFORE customers

Check your receipts! I was charged full price for clearly marked discounted items. After realizing, I returned only to be met by an obviously annoyed cashier. Vanessa constantly rolled her eyes and sighed loudly during our interaction. She was unsure of what she was doing and had to get a manager to fix her mistakes. The manager, Shelby was hostile and extremely disrespectful. At one point claiming that I “obviously don’t know how to read a receipt”. She later apologized after reviewing the receipt and noticing the errors made by Vanessa. I remained patient with Vanessa and Shelby during the 20 plus minute interaction. At no point did I disrespect her or her colleague. To be meet with such rudeness was extremely disappointing. COMPLETE lack of professionalism is an understatement . A paying customer shouldn’t be disrespected for a store’s error.
